Celebrity Support

Every year entertainers, business leaders and public officials join the broadcast to stand behind the humanitarian work of NCFJE Chabad of Mineola.

Corporate & Community Involvement

Leaders in the building and construction trades come on air to show they are doing their part for the community.

Behind the music and the laughs is a very serious purpose.

What the Telethon raises keeps NCFJE Chabad of Mineola's doors open all year: a warm "home away from home" for people who fall between the cracks.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of race, religion, age or income.

This Year’s Theme

Who Packed Your Parachute?

His jet was hit over Vietnam. Navy pilot Charles Plumb pulled the ejection handle, and a parachute opened above him.

Years later, a man he didn’t recognize came over to his table in a restaurant, called him by name, and told him about the day he was shot down.

How in the world did you know that? Plumb asked.

I packed your parachute.

Plumb had passed that sailor on the ship a hundred times and never said good morning. That night he couldn’t sleep, thinking of the man at a long table below deck, folding silk, holding a stranger’s life in his hands.

Chanukah tells the same story.

Someone set aside one small jar of pure oil in the Holy Temple, and it lit the Menorah for eight days.

Your gift to the Telethon packs a parachute for someone in our community: a family in crisis, a child in the hospital, a senior who is alone. You may never meet them, but you will make all the difference.
